Violets trip to the emergency room

So I guess I was a little panicked. V had a temp of over 102 and would not keep her medicine down. (think projectile here).

It was after closing time at our doctor so we took her to the hospital. we managed to get the medicine into her (not through her mouth :) ) and he fever went down. I will definitely make sure she needs to go next time though. Not that I think we did the wrong thing, but it was a lot of stress for her and us, and they never even checked her ears at the hospital and at our doctor the next day he told us she had an ear infection. Sheeeesh! And this is the hospital that I gave birth to her in. That's a little off-putting to say the least.

She is now on antibiotics and is doing much better. She seems nearly her old self (old? :) ) again.

We also got our family holiday pictures in! A lot of you will be getting one - but here is a preview of the picture. V of course, steals the show! I apologize if I missed anyone on the cards. Im sure you all know how expensive it can get (especially in our family of 30 first cousins). I tried to send one to each section of the family. Don't forget you can print the picture from here too if you would like a copy.

Thinking of you all this holiday season and I will be back with more from my new job and with details of our Christmas fun. (Violet's First Christmas!)

A new job and some quasi-words (mike-your favorite word hee!)

Well, as most of you may know, my job was going to go away - luckily, I have found a new one. It is almost exactly the same job, and it is still in the area, so thats good. I was hoping to find something a little different, but I have a job and I can keep looking if this doesn't make me happy. It was very serendipidous how it all happened too. I had a panic attack and started calling everyone in the area with the word "ad" in the name to ask about available positions. At the time, none of them did, but last week one of them called me and hired me on the spot after my interview. We are certainly much less stressed out as a family now, which is wonderful and we are all looking forward to the upcoming holidays. Mom, Dad, Louie and Scotty are all coming in town this year and I am very excited to have them all here for Christmas! Scott will be meeting Violet for the first time! I will be sure to post pics of their first encounter! :)

Violet is doing great! We went over to our friends Cory and Mandy's (this is them) for dinner a couple of weeks ago (sorry no posts in a while, I've been busy looking for a job) It was Violets first dinner party. It was fun and so nice of them to have us. There are so few places you can be comfortable with a small baby and they definitely made us feel welcome, poopy diapers and all. Violet even got some new bath boats!

Violet had some green beans yesterday - her first green veggie. She is getting strong and sitting almost by herself now. Her exersaucer is her favorite past time now (except for hanging out with family and the animals! She stares and stares at Mr. T and loves to "pet" Sassy) AND she is babbling mamamama - which to me is mama. ;) hee!

Well, one last week here at La-Z-Boy. I have to say, Im not as sad as i thought I would be to leave. Looking forward to some more new adventures! Hope you all have a terrific holiday - We are thinking of all of you!
