The New Helmet Era has begun!

Hello All! We have finally gotten Violet's helmet.

Don't be alarmed by its appearance...Violet is actually really enjoying wearing it! After all the worry on my part about how she would hate having it on, and it would be such a struggle to keep it on her...she loves it!

She has discovered that if she bangs her head against the mirror, not only can she watch "that baby in the mirror" bang her head, but it doesn't hurt! AND, it's pretty funny too! (Giggles galore!)

She has already protected herself from a couple of "Im learning to creep" falls as well. The helmet has many uses!

So here is hoping that the remolding doesn't take too long. The orthotist told us we can have her take it off for her birthday, so we can take many cute pictures of her without it and she can enjoy her day. He also told us that another patient of his has only had his helmet on for 2 months and is about done. I'm not getting my hopes up that high yet. Violet is a lot older and he was right in that 6 month growth spurt.

I wish our doctor hadn't told us to wait and see if it improved on it's own. The earlier you catch it the better with these things.

Oh well, you do what you can do. Hopefully, we will still see good results in as short a time as possible.

I know Violet will thank us for this later!

A Park Adventure

YOU WILL DO MY BIDDING! hee! hee! Here is little Violet at Wicker Park. There aren't a lot of toys for the very young, but we have fun anyway.

We walked around in the stroller and played in this little turtle bouncy guy. Then we played in the sand a bit.

We did see the guy from "Shear Genius" (a hair styling reality show) that is from our area...I refrained from asking him who won, I didn't want to ruin it for myself.

Anyway, I wanted to post a bunch of adorable pictures we got at the park. No helmet yet. Still waiting on it to come in. Will keep you all posted.!
